Convening Grants:
These grants are small grants intended to support project collaboration, and special needs. They are not to exceed $2,000, and do not have a deadline. To apply for a Convening Grant provide a one to two page summary of your project, on letterhead and signed by authorized official, that includes: need, objectives, amount requested, and intended outcomes. Please include a copy of your IRS 501 (c) 3 determination letter, and fill out our common grants form (print your completed form and submit with your other materials).
Project Grants follow a simple four-step process:
Step One: Letter of Inquiry
Click here to complete the online form that briefly outlines your project and verifies that you are a 501(c)3 organization. Convening grants are not subject to LOIs. Full proposals are not due with your LOI. Your LOI allows Foundation to evaluate how your projects fit with our Program Areas, and funding priorities.
Step Two: Application
If your letter of inquiry is approved, you may formally apply for a grant. The Foundation will not consider unsolicited proposals. Click here to download a grant application form. Grants must follow the format outlined in Writing an Award Winning Proposal. Incomplete applications will not be considered. NOTEa hard copy and digital copy are required. Please submit digital copies to: Branden S. Diehl (projectwater@verizon.net). Both digital and hard copy forms must be received by the grant deadline. Foundation will no longer accept express shipping packages (FedEx, UPS or USPS overnight or Express devilery), as this increases carbon footprints and organizational expenses. Lastly, all new AMD projects must create a Datashed account, and provide project information to this online repository. Please submit your Datashed account confirmation with your application.
Step Three: Approval
The Foundation Board meets to review grant applications twice a year, in the spring and in the fall (see above schedule). Upon selection, applicants will be notified and funds will be transferred.
Step Four: Final Report
All grantees must submit a final report to be fully eligible for future grants. To complete your final report click here . This form does not have a save feature. We recommend you type and save your answers in Word, and then transfer to the form. Final reports are due within 30 days of project completion. Projects not completed at the end of a year must provide an interim report following the same reporting criterion. No new grants will be awarded to a grantee until their project reporting is up to date.
Note: Failure to follow the grant procedure will result in the disqualification of your proposal. Failure to submit a final report may negatively impact future funding requests.
